Smile Train UK is thrilled to announce the return of our beloved fundraising campaign, the Big Smile Tea Party. This year, we are asking you to host your Big Smile Tea Party during the month of July to mark Cleft Awareness Month – but, really, you can host it whenever you’d like.
How can I host a Big Smile Tea Party?
The Big Smile Tea Party aims to unite people over a delightful cup of tea and a slice of cake, all in support of cleft-affected children globally.
Whether you opt for a cozy tea gathering at home, plan a virtual tea break with colleagues over Zoom, or connect with loved ones at the weekend, Smile Train UK encourages everyone to brew a pot of tea, savour their favourite treat, and engage in heartfelt conversations while contributing their spare change to Smile Train.

Clefts are one of the most common facial differences worldwide, affecting approximately 1 in 700 babies each year. While cleft surgeries are performed within a baby's first year of life by the National Health Service (NHS) here in the UK, countless children in underserved communities globally lack access to the life-changing cleft treatments they urgently require.
By empowering local medical professionals in these places with the resources they need to offer cleft surgeries and a complete range of comprehensive care — including speech therapy, emotional support, nutrition services, and orthodontics — all for free, Smile Train’s unique and sustainable model makes the same quality of care we want for ourselves and our families available in all corners of the world.
Over the past 25 years, this model has enabled more than 2 million safe, top-of-the-range cleft surgeries for people in need, and we won’t slow down until every individual with a cleft has access to the care they deserve.
Where does your money go?
The money you raise from the tea you sip will support Smile Train’s life-changing work. It helps us sponsor cleft surgery, answer calls on our Cleft Helpline in India, further train our local medical partners, and so much more.
