Francisco joined The Smile Train in September 2006, bringing extensive international experience in business management, sales and marketing. After spending over a decade in Europe, the USA and Argentina working for Ciba Geigy and Glaxo, he returned to his native country, Mexico, where he has spent the past 13 years in the leading multinational pharmaceutical companies in senior management positions.

Francisco is fascinated with the idea of moving into The Smile Train organisation to build essential partnerships to help give thousands of children a second chance at life. The idea of seeing a child smile for the first time is marvelous: “This will be the first time that I find such a direct and fulfilling reward in a challenging job.”

Francisco has three children attending college in San Francisco, and lives with his wife in Cuernavaca, a town once called “the city of eternal spring” by German explorer Alexander Humboldt. He enjoys all kinds of outdoor activities and sports with family and friends and above all - good conversation with people from all over the world.
